Family Picnic Photos on a Farm

This family is full of laughter and joy as they share a family picnic on a Southern farm. The sweet session couldn’t be cuter! At just nine months old, baby Graham is all smiles with his doting parents. They toss him in the air and let him gnaw on a juicy peach, and he seems to enjoy every minute of it. We love they location they chose, the tandem bike they rode, and how mom Amy, of Plume Events, styled it all.

Amy shares, This shoot was for my son Graham’s 9-month photos. I knew I wanted to incorporate elements that reflected my son and our family. We all enjoy being outdoors and observing and exploring nature together, so we chose a family friend’s beautiful farm as the location for the shoot. I love all-things vintage, so we incorporated the scrabble tiles spelling out Graham’s name (which are usually on display in our kitchen) and the tandem bicycle that we could ride together.

Since the shoot was in the summer, I wanted to include a small picnic, which we brought in the same picnic basket my family used when I was my son’s age, with my son’s favorite food and the perfect summertime treat–peaches. He had never experienced a whole peach before, so watching his sweet little face while he tried to figure out what it was and his surprise when he took a bite was so much fun. We all wore clean whites and cool blues, with soft textures like lace and eyelet and subtle patterns. I also wore the letter G necklace my husband gave me for Mother’s Day when I was pregnant with my son.
